Stephen Portrait Photography Session

Todays post is a sneak peek about a portrait session the other day with a beautiful young lady a Miss Stephen.  She was quite nervous to begin with but soon settled into posing for the camera.  Once she had settled into the posing there was no stopping her and she took posing guidance very well.  As she is such an attractive girl I decided to use a beauty style lighting set up for these images of her, employing the clamshell or paramount style of lighting.  This helped to bring out the natural beauty in her.

This photography session was one of my first using just my Canon speed lights and not the big studio strobes, well I am getting older and the studio strobes are not getting any lighter.  Using the speed lights makes travelling to peoples homes or out on location shoots so much easier as all the equipment needed takes up less than a 1/3rd of the room a studio strobe and power pack set up would, and is much lighter.  This makes it much easier to get to the less accessible places, especially when out on location.

For this particular portrait session I used my faithful DMLS 19” Beauty dish as the key light and a lastolite soft box, or bare bulb for fill, camera settings Aperture f/4.0 ISO 100 Shutter 1/250th Second, flashes fired via Pocket Wizard TT1 and TT5’s

Anyway, enough of the technical details, here are a few images from the portrait session and I think you will agree Miss Stephen is a very attractive lady.
