Highly Commended

I am pleased to say that the image below achieved a highly commended in The Societies (SWPP) monthly competition for July 2012.  The image was entered into the Portraiture Environmental Category.  Images which gain the highly commended have the chance to be re-appriased every three months, with the possibility of being upgraded to a Gold merit.

I have not been entering the competition  much lately as I have been too busy with other stuff and always forget.  The judging of the competition has got much tougher lately and out of the 73 images entered in the same category none achieved the coveted Gold. The higher standards of the judging are widely accepted and encouraged by members of the Societies as this compels us  to push ourselves beyond our comfort zones in order to surpass these higher standards and strive for excellence in our photography.

I am also pleased that I share the highly commended with a number of well respected photographers within the society.
